Subject: Silence draped itself around Moloch...
In reply to: Senator Lux 's message, ""Well, Lye-Onitron..."" on 15:08:18 01/16/02 Wed

He often surrounded himself in darkness, in shrouds of mystery and an air of pompous security that only served to put him at odds with his fellow Senators. Not that he cared, mind you. Moloch led his own life, completely independent from the trivialities of his brethren. His own plots, his own ideas, his own informants.

And, watching the arguments ensuing amongst the others, specifically Lord Betacron's outburst, he found himself rather enjoying keeping himself separate. Separate, he thought to himself, from all but Shelley. Much as he hated to admit it, he found Shelley to be of invaluable service to him and his cause. Glancing around the room, he realized Shelley had yet to make his appearance in the meeting, though he undoubtedly would. Shelley had a tendency to butt his head in on every matter to spring up, trying to have his hand play a role in every twist and turn the government dealt with.

And he did a decent job of it. Shelley, opposed at first to the idea of creating a Council, was now it's largest supporter, and was responsible for most of the Councilors being assigned to the job. Luckily for Moloch, he had wormed his way into Shelley's trust, assuring he also had a say in matters. Shelley had his own ends, no doubt, and was surely using the Council as his means. Moloch had no intentions of letting that happen. He had his own devices in play to get Shelley out of his way, with Shelley's own grandson playing the unwitting executioner.

But Moloch found himself digressing from his train of thought. It did no good to dwell on trivial matters like that at the moment. The hive currently approaching Cybertron would ensure Moloch's own plans falling apart. He had to make sure Betacron got his point across. While very intrigued with the Bastion situation, he found himself agreeing with Betacron in the matter. Bastion was indeed a very pressing issue, but it wouldn't matter if they were all dead.

Moloch stood, and drew his cloak tight around him. It was time to put an end to this mockery of a meeting, and get down to business. He would take note of the Bastion situation, and would certainly look into the matter more pressingly later. If they survived the coming Apocalypse.

You'll forgive me, Senator Lux, but I believe Betacron had the floor first. While we shall indeed deal with Bastion, something has obviously put Betacron at extreme unease, and I find myself wondering why we have ignored the fact that it was he who called us all here. Had Senator Onitron here been the one to call the meeting, I would have no problem witnessing the current debate at hand. But, as he didn't, shall we now address the obviously more pressing matter?

He glanced up at Betacron, and flashed an impish grin towards the much larger Senator. He was careful that the other Senators wouldn't notice it.

I don't think any of us have a pressing need to witness any more violence over the matter. Surely the video screens would second this, as would Lady Embyr's chair.

Moloch cast an icy stare around at the other Senators, before taking his seat again. He had said his piece, and would likely say no more throughout the rest of the meeting. He wondered if the other Senators would make it in time to hear Betacron's pressing announcement...
