Thanks for responding Pestul. Actually, I wasn't really complaining at all, just want to get better at it. To me, understanding all of the influences to a game is crucial to sqeaking out that little edge each time.

Today, I learned three things.

1. that my FPS swings widely by map. I don't have a great graphics card in my Mac and even the best rates are not that high. My best rate today was 52 and my lowest 22. There is a significant difference in playability between the low and high, that is quite evident.

2. My ping pretty much stayed the same for all maps, but I will still continue to monitor.

3. I learned a new jumping move to go even higher. Thanks RAW.

I've spent a lot of time today trying various configs and will continue to do so. I even tried a new .ini file today that was supposed to bump up my FPS in OpenGL for my card, but I have yet to see a significant difference.

Most of you have probably already covered this ground since you have been playing much longer that I, if so, apologies if this is a boring topic.
