. ~ Golden fairy-like equine crested the horizon in a swift canter, flints merely grazing the emerald terra before lifting back up again in a dreamy stride. An enormous banana leaf was slung across her slim back, rising as wiry muscles propelled beauty forth. Creamy tassels flew before a fresh spring breeze as femme slowed beside the two fallen males. Attention was drawn to the stallion, for his injuries were direr. A strong splint bound with hearty reeds set his fractured hind leg and a soothing paste was applied to all his cuts. Sticky leaves covered the abrasions caused by death’s hooves, slowly stopping the constant blood flow. Similar treatment was administered to fallen colt. Finally, a strong smelling plant was ground into fine powder and gently smeared about the stallion’s nares. Gentle voice was barely above a whisper as she issued a diagnosis ~ . The stallion has been sent into a peaceful sleep and will not wake until the morrow. The cuts should be treated with care and stay as dry as possible for a week. The splint needs 3 weeks and then may be removed. I shall stay for a few more hours to be assured of the most positive recovery…
