Is it enough, for me?
For now?
How do I answer that?

I look inside my soul
my thoughts,
and yet, I cannot reply.

Is this a game you play?
a glimpse,
that lets me in
only a little way.

But, without invitation
To sit
To share
To stay.

Like a sunny beach.
rippling waves
lapping at the sand;
then fleeing just as quickly

Running from the shore
flowing once more
to the safety of the sea.
sofly closing the door

Don't you see it hurts me?
letting me get so near.
you give, but oh so carefully;
You ask, please tarry here.

So I ask, how long must I wait?
What is it you seek from me;
that I may give;
to be let in the tender gate?

Is it enough, for now?

My answer is this my friend.
Don't leave me
standing at the door,
my heart held in my hand,

without a sign
that maybe,
just someday,
yes, you'll let me in.
