Carousel Dreams

I watched out my window,
At the sounds and the sights.
To the fair is where I want to go,
To fill my heart with delight.

As we approach the gates,
My excitement begins to grow.
All of the food smells so great,
I can hear the barkers tell about their shows.
~*~
Here is the one ride that I am here for,
It�s my favorite one of them all.
The one that makes me yearn for more,
Standing before me oh so tall.
~*~
I climb upon the beautiful steed,
As the bells begin to ring.
The carousel starts to turn slowly,
And the music begins to sing.
~*~
I close my eyes to those around me,
As my horse and I ride away.
To a land where we can be free,
To ride and play all day.
~*~
But I am pulled back to reality,
As the carousel begins to slow.
I say goodbye to my friend lovingly,
The ride is over and I must now go.

But tonight when I close my eyes,
In my dreams I will come back again.
The sights and the sounds will again fill the skies,
And my carousel ride will never end.
