In God�s Grace

I look at their tiny tear streaked faces
Trying to think of how to sooth them
But how do you explain why those people died

I brush the tears from my own face
Searching for a way to remove this disgrace
But for what was done, it can never be justified

I long to tell them not to worry
That sometimes god is just in a hurry
And takes as many angels as he needs

But to these ends I will not lie
There was no reason for them to die
And for those people my heart truly bleeds

I try to tell them that it�s all right
That some people have just lost sight
Of the true meaning of participating in gods plan

Forever the victims will remain in god�s grace
They will feel the warmth of his loving embrace
And the people that did this will end up different kind of cell

Their souls will be condemned through all eternity
No one will answer their pathetic pleas
And justice will be done according to god�s will

I pull my children close and hold them tight
Telling them that a bunch of angels have taken flight
And that in the end god would always prevail

As they finally closed their sad little eyes
I was able to let down my own disguise
My heart broke and I began to weep

I cried for the children whose parents would never return
I sobbed at the misery it took for this lesson to be learned
I was saddened that we had forgotten what this country is called

It is the United States of America in which we live
And to this country my heart I do give
I will let no evil tear apart what so many lives have built

Let the eagle forever fly free in our skies
The red, white and blue wave always in our eyes
In memory of the many people whose blood has been spilt
