When he opened his eyes he saw nothing but blurred shapes. So he just kept his eyes closed the whole time and didn't even try to understand the muffled voices that reached his ears. He moved his head and his throat rubbed roughly on his foreleg, causing it to seep blood. His chest, throat, and paws now crusted from blood.*
