I've had to undo some of the unreliable, confused messes that resulted from this type of treatment. That's usually they problem...they use these harsh methods and dump them off on somebody else when it (of course) doesn't work.

What does this teach the dog? What association is the dog building with the shock? It's distraction and useless. Does nothing to build a behavior or stop one. Just takes the dog's mind off of it for the moment.

Very sad.
