Subject: Jefferson Airplane

My first concert at the Swing was on 7/17/67. It was the first appearance in San Bernardino by the Jefferson Airplane. It was the Summer of Love. Of course they did their hits "Somebody to Love" and "White Rabbit" plus a bunch of other songs from their Surrealistic Pillow album. From what I remember the place was packed. The band that preceded them was called the "Caretakers". They were a local San Bernardino/Riverside band that were the opening act at the Swing a number of times in 1967 from what I remember. The Swing wasn't elegant or fancy but I always liked the shows there.
