In reply to: Karen 's message, "Re: Old question about awards.." on 10:49:59 10/31/01 Wed

First: I checked out the site-- looking good, Karen!!

I noticed that there was an award for best classic movie [15 years or older]...two things:

1. Now, I'm kinda dense, so I saw this as confusing sorta...I mean, a movie from fourteen years ago today will be "eligible" next year...is this what you had in mind? Or maybe pre-dating a specific year [classic=made before 1986?]; also, when I think of 'classic' sci-fi/horror movies I think of old-school, Golden age, mostly B-movie movies... I'm not 100% sure this is an "accepted" definition of 'classic' ...I know it clearly says "15 years or older" but I thought I'd mention it...shrug...

2. I didn't see anything for best 'classic' book/novel (I admit I wasn't looking that carefully so sorry if it's there.); I don't think we can ignore 'classics' from the Golden age of Sci-fi and other "old" fantasy/horror ficition because they defined the genres(Asimov short stories, Bester, Tolkien, Poe, etc.etc.). Just a fleeting thought...

maybe not too crazy...it IS a lot of stuff; you might think of splitting it up: you know, say, books & movies at one time of year, and tv at some other time of year...shrug...only way to really figure it out is to do it, right? =)

Cool.

oh, well, you want *thinking* heads...I don't know how much use *I'll* be, then...

=)
