These are the meeting minutes from February 25th.

Ordinance #3199 Regulating Vicious Animals in Bellevue

Ordinance #3199, an ordinance to amend Sections 6-0, 6-3, 6-9, 6-17, 6-18 and 6-31 of Articles I, II and III of Chapter 6 of the Bellevue City Code and to add Section 6-10 to Article I of Chapter 6 of the Bellevue City Code pertaining to the regulation of animals and fowl; to amend Section 6-0 of Article I of Chapter 6 adding and revising various definitions within such section; to amend Section 6-3 of Article I of Chapter 6 to provide that it is unlawful for any animal to run at large; to amend Section 6-9 of Article I of Chapter 6 providing for the possibility of both monetary fines and the relinquishment of the animal as punishment for violating a provision of Chapter 6; to enact a new Section 6-10 of Article I of Chapter 6 requiring the procurement of liability insurance for the ownership of vicious animals; to amend Section 6-17 of Article II of Chapter 6 requiring proper restraint of vicious animals; to amend Section 6-18 of Article II of Chapter 6 prohibiting the running at large of vicious animals; to amend Section 6-31 of Article III of Chapter 6 requiring licensure of dogs and cats; to repeal such Sections as heretofore existing; and to provide for the effective date of this ordinance, was read by title only.



Since City Attorney John Herdzina will not be present at the March 11, 2002 meeting, Motion was made by Dr. Hatcher, seconded Cascio, the second reading and public hearing on the ordinance be scheduled for March 25, 2002. All present voted yes. The City Clerk passed out several copies of the ordinance to individuals in the audience.
