New Business:

Now that the meetings take place on AOL's IM, every participant can save and print the entire transcript of the meetings.

In the News - Grayson will be on the tv news soon regarding
the Diane Whipple case. They will do the
report at Grayson's home in Winston-Salem, NC.

- Jim called the Fox News Channel to express
his displeasure with one of their reports.

- Denise will be interviewed this week by her
local newspaper reporter.

It was suggested that a list of tips be posted to the ABBA Website for future reference.

What to say when interviewed by the media:

1 - Stress that is is not the dog, but the owner that is
the problem.
2 - Whipple case - Bulldog people applaud the verdict.
Irresponsible owners are responsible for dogs'
actions.
3 - The message should be good, enforceable dangerous dog
legislation.
4 - Stress responsible ownership, not breed.
5 - Think before you speak. Keep your composure no
matter what is said.
6 - Take control of the interview. Keep the reporter
focused on the issue at hand.
7 - Keep it positive.
8 - The onus is on the owner and the breeder to make
responsible decisions.
9 - Animal aggression does not equate to human aggression.
10 - Many bites are caused by well-meaning owners that make
excuses for dogs with poor temperaments.
11 - Responsible APBT/AST owners completely support
euthanizing human aggressive dogs, of any breed.

Grayson posted a media question on my community. http://communities.msn.ca/AAAmericanPitBullTerriers/_whatsnew.msnw

It was suggested the FAQ and Tips be posted on ABBA Website.

It was suggested that we need to stay focused in our quest to protect our dogs. Nothing must get in the way. Place principles above personalities. Let's start cutting out articles on dog attacks, bsl, etc.

Mahlon suggested we study places where BSL was defeated to understand how and why so we can help it happen elsewhere.
