When learning new pitches you should always finish up practice by throwing 25 to 50 fastballs as hard as she can. When learning the screwball and drop you take some off which will become a habit and she will lose her velocity. Also experiment with the power drop. This is a good pitch if she can master it. She'll get a lot of ground ball outs.
