Dear Brothers and Sister,

When our Lord spoke (whispered) to each of us that He felt we could help bring people to an understanding of His glory, He chose each of us for what we had inside of us. There are people who would never in their wildest dreams every think that I was bring the word of God to them. They would find much more fullfillness with each of you. Just like the disciples after Jesus’ crucifixion went out into the world, they each took with them their views of what Jesus had shown to them. They were not in agreement with everything, but Jesus knew enough to realize that each would touch someone in a different way for Him. There are also people out there who are tired of the fighting, that they have share with me, that goes on within churches or even religions. They have told me that when they have a question or comment and bring it to their pastor, more times than not, they receive a pat answer and then some bible verses. They walk away with a less understanding of what they asked about then when they started. Many of the people that I have talked to have wished that the pastor would just have said they don’t know why this or that happened instead of trying to make justification for it. Journey for Life Ministry has exploded around the world and yes, we are receiving correspondence from around the world, with thanks for just listening to what they have had on their hearts and what their thoughts were. Not all have been positive responses though. I have found that just listening to what many of the people say, through emails or just sitting with them, brings them closer to what God really wants from them. Now, I don’t pretend to know what God wants from the Sandra, Andrews or the Carls that I talk to. I do know that for this moment God has asked me just to listen to what they are saying and He is working on their heart. I am just a sounding board for that moment in their lives. We at Journey for Life Ministry believe that all God wants from each of us is to be “Happy Healthy and Wealthy”. None of us will ever be able to bring God’s word to someone else until each of us are “Happy” with ourselves. Now being "Happy" doesn't mean with everything in our lives, maybe just one thing that has been a challenge for us and we are able to overcome it. Once we are “Happy” with ourselves, we become “Healthy”. We don’t need as many Tums or that extra bottle of beer. We exercise, we eat better, we sleep better. When we are “Happy”, “Healthy” we become “Wealthy”. As I have shared this with many different groups and fellow pastors, the pastors are the ones that seem to immediately take this to mean money and start shouting that we can not worship God if we worship money. The others seem to know what I am talking about. The “Wealth” that we receive, yes is money, but most of all is the smile we see on other people’s faces, the twinkle of their eyes. The meeting of different people who before never would have been brought into their lives. The faces of the people who we let in front of us as they are trying to make that turn in the road. The holding of doors when you are the first one there. The going up to a family that have their kids under control at a restaurant, where you are eating and thanking them for doing such a good job of teaching their kids to be respectful. The saying thank you to the checker. The looking at your wife, husband and children and thanking God that you are with them. For Susan and I, it is thanking God for leading us to Vietnam and the adopting of our three children. The list goes on and on. I share with my people that there are more people drawn to our Lord through what they see in you and me than that building down the road or someone holding the bible up and continuing telling or showing me that I have not fulfilled or met what I feel the bible might be telling me.
Our Lord has chosen me to represent Him in this manner. I could no sooner approach the people that each of you have drawn to you then the man in the moon. Our Lord knows that each of you will reach the people that he sends to you in a way that no one else would be able to. For reasons I don’t fully understand our Lord has brought each of you into my life at this moment. He has brought bible verses into my life that I had not understood before, for you see, each of you have brought into my life what God had wanted for me at this moment. Now I think God has been whispering to me that I need to go down this path for a long time and when I finally listened to what He was telling me, I not only learned something, but I gained some friends that I didn't have before. Yes, I have seen your names here before, but now we have met and I hope that maybe God has used me to bring an understanding of what He might have been trying to whisper to each of you. Each of you have been a building block in my Journey for Life toward out Lord and for this I want to thank you.
