It has always been so. There are a lot of people who are false converts or stony ground heares. They are there for a season then comes trial, tribulation pesecution, not to mention that the love of many wax cold.
We can talk to them, pray for them and minister to them but it is GODs job to make christians and keep them.
Still, I understand your concern and it is a sad thing to see people fall away.
