Subject: Remembering God

Matthew 16:9 "Do ye not yet understand, neither remember the five loaves of the five thousand, and how many baskets ye took up?"

Mark 8:18 "Having eyes, see ye not? and having ears, hear ye not? and do ye not remember?"

John 16:4 "But these things have I told you, that when the time shall come, ye may remember that I told you of them."

Hebrews 8:12 "For I will be merciful to their unrighteousness, and their sins and their iniquities will I remember no more."

Hebrews 10:17 "And their sins and iniquities will I remember no more."

Hebrews 6:10 "For God is not unrighteous to forget your work and labour of love, which ye have shewed toward his name, in that ye have ministered to the saints, and do minister."

Do we remember the things God has done for us, or do we have to be reminded? Each day God blesses us with something, yet when it comes time to give Him praises, do we slack? Or do we offer up our praises and thanks for everything He has given us. Do we share what He has done for us with others, edifying them, and uplifting them through our testimony? Or do we keep it to ourselves, hoping God will do it again?

God is so good all the time... he is always blessing us with the things of our lives that we need. He continues to provide our daily needs, everything we have. He is faithful and just to always be there for us, never forgetting us nor forsaking us. Are we as faithful to Him? God will not forget the things we do for Him, yet how small they are in comparison to all He does for us, YET, how can we forget Him, when he heals us, cures our sicknesses, delivers us from addictions, provides our food, water, pays our bills, How can we forget Him when He provides a roof over our head, and clothes on our back. how can we forget HIM?

The disciples had to be reminded of the food that God had provided for them, when times got rough, God tells us that He gave us HIS Word, sot hat we would not forget Him, yet we set aside His Word for the world, and forget Him still in may things. The age old message brought by so many preachers is how we trade Christ for the ballgame on Sunday's. But so what if you don't do that and you go to church faithfully on Sunday's? Do you trade God for breakfast or do you pray first? Do you trade God for work, or do you pray and think of Him while there? Do you trade God for your children, or do you plead the blood of Christ over them, and pray for them constantly, and teach them to come up in the Word of God? Do you trade God for anything....car, boat, vacation, school, tv, books, games, anything, OR do you always put God first and pray and seek Him about all of your decisions in life?

It is so easy to just do, and not think about God, that is why the enemy loves it so much when we do it once, because he knows we will do it again, and again, and again.... But if we will make our life a lifestyle of serving God, a total life changing commitment to God, and have a lifestyle of praise and worship to God, this won't happen so often, of forgetting God, By taking and setting our eyes 100% on god in ALL we do, we can put Him first in everything, and we won't find ourselves forgetting God.....

Something to think about.... What If......God said today.... She/He didn't do anything for me yesterday, why should I do for him/her today? What If God was as forgetful as we.... What if today is the day we meet Him..... What If we haven't done anything for Him, In His Name Today..... What If...... God WILL NEVER forsake or forget you.... Seek Him today, and do your best not to forget HIM.

In Christ's Love & Service,
Pastor Kelvin Nelson
