I would..

If you look at the tale of the talents, you will see that the Master discerned the heart of the servant who said, (parahrased) Master you are a shrewd business man, and expect much, I was afraid to lose it and get fired.

The Master knew the servant was not only lazy, but thinking not of how he could serve the Master, but how he could cover his own stuff. He was already counting the cost of obedience.

Choosing not to act, or step out on the "Lords" leading is..in fact an act, and decision. Quick example. A Pastor is in service (the servant) He is going about the service and wham, the Holy Spirit says, "dump the sermon, I want you to say somehting else." Instead He buries that directive in the dirt, of logic, reason, fear of man, and disobedience. (But Lord you gave me this church i.e. talent to take care of and I was afraid to offend anyone and lose the congregation you gave me) Hmmm..

Is "this" servant more concerned about the effective Shepherding of Gods flock, or the giving revenue drop if people leave.
Is He more concerned about multiplying the talent through "obedience" or fear of losing his position in the community, respect of the social heads of our day, or his "job".

I know, that I know that I know, that "any" price I have "ever" paid for obedience, the Lords blessing has reduced it to a speck of sand, in the light of His favor.

In-action...is...an action.

Saved by Grace, walking in Mercy

Rev. Mark McManus
