In reply to: Chaplain Rodger DeRamus 's message, "United Christian Chaplains Association(UCCA)" on 21:48:39 12/10/05 Sat

I was the one who responded about a venue specific to the UCCA. I recall that it was in the works, a specific format for members of the UCCA to communicate and coordinate in matters specific to chaplaincy, I mean, as well as an association that would provide offerings specific to chaplaincy matters in general, rather than the general content found at the UCMI website or message center. Thus, was it felt that a specific venue for dues paying members would be in order. One does not need to be a member of any chaplains' association to perform in the area of chaplaincy. No doubt, there are a number of UCMI ordained ministers doing chaplaincy work who have never been a member of the UCCA or any other chaplains' association. Since the UCCA is an association for chaplains, I thought it would be nice to have a specific venue for this specialized ministry is all. I recall it was in the works and commented in that regard. But one doesn't need to be a member of any chaplain's association to do chaplaincy work. Possibly, what I recalled was sidelined with recent happenings in more minister accountability and UCMI working to get that under way. But if it were to happen I would consider rejoining as a dues paying member. UCMI is at the forefront of "alternative" licensure/ordination, and a specific venue as mentioned for the UCCA woudl be another quality hallmark, no doubt. Hope this clarifies what I had meant.

God bless!

P.S.

I stand by UCMI and it's works. This ministry is great! I was previously ordained by another entity but resigned that believeing that UCMI is sufficient for true Christian ordination. Also, I refer our ministry's members and others I become acquainted with to the UCMI coursework and institute.
