You are correct in condemning the Catholic Bishop's attitude.

However, it is hard to condemn the words of another language and how they are used. In my studies I have found the name of Allah to be used in the Christian and Muslim ,Arabic language, teachings of the Middle East.

There is a source of confusion when in a land of the Muslim and referring to “God”. The Arabic version of the English word “God” is “Allah” and is used by Hebrew, Christian and Muslim alike to refer to their own version of the Supreme Being (A reference introduced by non-Christians in the NIV to refer to Jehovah.).

I found no difference in the Arabic use of the name Allah and the English use of the name God. Both of these names are generic in nature and are used in multiple religions to refer to their particular (Forgive me for saying it like this.) Supreme Being(s), for some have multiple Gods.

The context/meaning of the names Allah and God depend on where and to whom it is being used. Since finding this out I have been trying to teach myself to call upon, and speak, the name of Jehovah, in place of the generic name of God. That way there is no doubt of what God I am speaking of.
