Subject: Testimony

In reading the USA Today article that Bro. Smithey sent, speaking of faith, keeping it or losing it, etc., it brought to mind something that has always "stuck in my craw", and that is the matter of personal testimony being supposed to be a sudden epiphany.

I do not remember a time, even as a toddler, when I did not have an innate knowledge of the existence of God and that He would care for me. There was not a time that I remember "suddenly" recieving knowledge...He has ALWAYS been there.

So when someone calls for me to give testimony about how I came to "know God", the only answer I have is that the knowledge is inherent. The way people look at me when I say that is as if I were claiming divinity for myself.

The Scriptures tell us that for those who have not heard the Gospel, the existence of God is everywhere and in everythign, so that they are without excuse. Why is this such a difficult concept to understand...or is that people simply MUST have a level of drama to believe anything? Are we so jaded?
