Dearest Brother !

In the last few months I,too, have faced earthly trials beyond which many could tolerate. Every day, on the way home from work, I pass a church sign that declares "Relax...God is in control". I took heart in that until it seemed that every time I looked at it, something else devastating would happen ! It is not so much that I lost my faith in Him, but was worried that HE had lost His faith in ME...which is something I couldn't abide, being the insecure and insignificant sinner, that I am !

I have given much thought to your post here, grieved over it, and finally am here to agree with you in prayer and rejoice with you. As Brother Mark so wisely put it, yes, even Jesus had His moments of doubt, and feeling forsaken !

But just this morning, the Lord led my hand to Isiah 54. At the beginning of the chapter it speaks of comfort for the barren or widowed woman, but then haven't we ALL felt unproductive, a failure, or abandoned from time to time? The text goes on to say that the Lord has indeed, in His righteous anger, turned His face from time to time, but He promises once again that this, too, shall pass and that He will not stay angry, that He will lift His countenance upon us again, and that He will not forget us. He will take us back into His bosom.

In His Kingdom are many mansions, and the road is not always without tribulation. This has been repeated so often that it has become a platitude....yet within it all, there is ALWAYS His PERSONAL promise that He will NOT forsake us ! This is the ONLY information we need to assure that the Wicked One will not destroy us.

My brother, I rejoice in your life and in your constant search for His glory.

Jesus, who will destroy the Enemy with the Word of God, take our brother's hand and heart and give Him strength to remember that it is he who endures to the end who shall be saved. In Your Amazing mercy show him the Way out of His temporary hopelessless. We know that all things are possible through You who strengthens us. We, as sinners, can do nothing but call upon your grace, which we recieve now in joy and peace..the peace which passeth all understanding !
Take us now, Lord, and forgive us and save us, and let the Glory be Thine !
Amen and amen !
