Subject: Salt, Light, and Love

Greetings fellow Ministers,

I have had a number of experiences of late that reminded me of a very humbling and significant truth.

1. My calling is to be Salt. The interesting thing about salt is that it causes thirst. Am I living the love of Christ in a way that causes unbeleivers to thirst for something (which is the spirit of the living God) they see in me. Usually it is the grace of God inspite of my weak and bumbling flesh, that moves others, not in my trying to be perfect or posture in a way that comes across holier than thou..so to speak, but rather one who brings healing.

2. The love of God in Christ Jesus moves us to love through the shortcomings of others, and continue to seek Gods will rather than our reactions to others. Here's the catch..It is impossible to do of our own power in the flesh. The good side is.....It is impossible to do of our own power in the flesh...We need our Lord and the precious Holy Spirit daily. This is the simple light of God's grace that says. God's ways are higher than my ways, and that's a wonderful place to be.

3. We can be incredible theologians. Firey preachers, articulate teachers, etc. but if others don't see in us the same love, that embraced us in our filthiest sin and brokeness, we will be but just another self righteous, religeous person, judging them. I pray that, what others see in me is not, greatly honed religous skills, or grandiosity, but rather one who was lost, and now is found, saved by His precious grace and mercy.

I am so grateful for this ministry and the blessing we have in being able to serve others in the love of Christ.

May you all be blessed and reminded how deeply, and richly we are loved by an awesome God, and blessed Savior.

Your brother in Christ

Pastor Mark :)
