Our group plans monthly in advance. We post these dates on our forum for all to see. It helps those who have families and other committments in and out of school. Meeting as a group is very helpful, and we seem to get a lot out of it. But I have found that spontaneous moments have also been critical in making the Best Use of Time.
The other day Jan received her first imac! Yeah! She was very excited to put it together, but needed to wait for our tech support person who only visits every so often coming from another building. So I gave her a personal tutorial on imac-Getting Started 101. When she hooked everything together, she felt very successful and had some confidence in getting behind the controls. To us this seems trivial, but for her it was a major accomplishment!
Planning is good, but sometimes that spontaneous "teachable moment" comes along to make the Most out of your time!
