The mill is a 300 year old building. It was a grist mill located on the Mill River , built by Joseph Haviland in 1688. It was purchased by Alexander Davison in 1818. It is now a museum in Memorial Park, East Rockaway, NY. If you look there are no holes for the belts that ran the waterwheel or any another signs of it being a working Mill.The belts would have run 2 stories. It is all part of the lies and cover ups. That is why the building which was once a bar is so important. It is part of the cover up. The village doesn't want anyone to find out that they are calling a barn a mill. I took a good look at the outside of the Asgard today from the lot of the auto parts store and I can see how at one time it very well may have been a mill. I have tools and clocks and books and other items over a hundred years old. Some heirlooms , many collected at tag sales, if you like old stuff you'd be impressed with what I have. Yet the Asgard has been changed far from what it once was. Year Renovated 1984. There are many better examples of grist mills in the region. The village has little need to support another old building just due to it's old.
