Word has it that the village offered the Colwells $200,000.00 for the East Point Inn.
Oh the shame of the village.
Wait it gets better.
After the village was told no, the rumor was told that Arabs owned the East Point Inn so no one wanted to eat there.
Wait even more.
The village made sure the East Point Inn did not pass the fire code no matter what they did.
Even more.
All of a sudden
The parking signs went up for one hour only to kill the Colwells even more.
More
The school tax for East Rockaway was increased over 5 times what it should be.
The village will not stop because they are Nazi like. This is what the Nazis did during World War Two to gain money and power for themselves.We went to war to stop this. Now the village is using Nazi technique to gain power and money.
The village wants the whole dock area for themselves and will not stop until they own the area.
This means all the building around the docks.
Shame Shame Shame on the village.

So... are you against slanderous lies or for them? Because I see that you have taken both sides of the issue. If the village made such an offer, the Colwells would have included such an anecdote in their letter to the Herald. Could it be that the Colwells are beginning to see the overwhelming unpopularity of their senseless destruction and decided to spread lies against the people trying to save the village?

Find one lie in my post. There aren't any. The people of East Rockaway are furious with the Colwells and will no longer patronize their establishments.

If they build condos there, it WILL affect me. An increase in population density means more traffic and less mobility for the rest of the village. Once again, bad for the village.

What they did to the Cowells they will do to you.
The Cowells really don't need you any way. Boycotts don't work anyway. If they did the price of gas would be lower.
It is mostly they will do better without your kind.You can tell the lies all you want. The truth is you are too busy with things that don't belong to you.You are too busy putting your nose in where it does not belong. Your name is not on the deed.This behavior of yours is what has sunk this village lower than the swamps it was built on.
These wonderful people on your "post" will turn on you just as fast as they turned on the Cowells. I gather that doesn't matter to you because you must be much of the same.

So you're comparing multinational corporations to a local restaurant? Boycotts do work, especially on a local setting. According to you, the village spread a rumor that Arabs owned the East Point Inn and that boycott was effective. It never happened, of course, but it is demonstrative of your duplicity and hyprocisy.

In the same breath you claim both the effectiveness of a boycott and its impotence.

So I pose to you this question: Do boycotts work? Once again, you have take both sides of the issue, so I am eager to hear which one of your arguments you will ultimately settle for.

Your silly bad mouthing and boycott does not work because the cafe is full and busy every night. They are making money.
The Cowells are the people who gave life to this area. It just figures the Village would want to take it away.
The silly 1 hour parking signs could not stop them from making money. Your nazi ways don't work.
