Subject: Ronald M. Figler

I am trying to find the birth parents of my cousin Ronald M. Figler. He was born supposedly on June 16, 1936 as Ronald Michael Golojuck (Golojuch) in Rome, New York. He was adopted by my uncle and aunt Wallace Figler (Figlerski) & Isabel Dunham Figler (Figlerski) of Amsterdam, Montgomery County, New York. The date of the adoption was supposed to be December 9, 1939. (WHERE RON WAS FROM THE TIME OF HIS BIRTH UNTIL HE WAS ADOPTED REMAINS A MYSTERY) Ron did not know he was adopted until 1953, when he tried to get a birth certificate to enlist in the US Army. I was told he found out he was "ILLIGITIMATE." My aunt and uncle took him to see Amsterdam, NY Attorney Tommy Mullarkey who produced a document showing Ron's birth name, birth date, birthplace and the date of adoption. Everyone who knew the secrets of this mystery is long deceased. ONE QUESTION I HAVE: IS WHY HE WAS PUT FOR DOPTION? Ron is now 81 years old and approaching the end of his life. He is in the Veterans Home of Florida in Lakeland, FL. Is there anyone who can help? Thanks, Jim
