My book has been reviewd by the brooklyn Eagle. Below is a review someone posted at Book crossings.
"There was never a dull moment in this book. I couldn't put it down. I found it short, sweet, and to the point (no pun intended, readers will know what I mean).Even though you don't know the main character's age or race, you'll still see someone you know in their behaviors. In a world of superficial images and "men behind the masks," it is refreshing to see someone (the author) unveiling the dark nature of man's heart. I was especially intrigued by the chapter entitled "Dolls." In it we see the phase "out of the mouths of babes" come to life. Childlike innocence once again shines a light on simple moral values our parents taught us from birth. The Carrot and the Mule challenges the reader to look at his or her own choices in life. I would recommend this book to lovers of tales of unrequited love, stories about our inner struggles with the war between human and divine nature, and just a good old-fashioned murder mystery. I plan to leave it in my school (NCSU) library. Happy Reading!!!

This striking tale of determination, personal growth and an emotional journey through love and loss opens with startling action and intense emotion. Roger Williams was an abused child, but one determined to rise above his circumstances and succeed in life. At a very young age, he gets a job as a box boy, which he keeps until he turns eighteen. From there, he enters the university, where he earns his degree and ultimately decides to go to law school, where he meets the love of his life, Sara. Rather skeptical of his good fortune of late, Roger wonders if his newfound happiness is merely a symbolic carrot dangled before him, ever expecting it to be snatched away the moment he reaches for it. And while Roger's life is by no means a picnic, he realizes it's up to him to reap the fruits of his labor whenever possible. Personal struggles and pain accompany him on his journey into adulthood, and he must struggle with periods of betrayal and disappointment before he finds his true self. A fast paced and easy read, The Carrot and the Mule is a well-written first novel by author Foti, a published poet. Resonating with faith, determination and a seemingly unachievable goal, his main character emerges from a symbolic trial by fire to a maturity and understanding of what he stands for in life, despite the sacrifices he's had to make along the way. An entertaining read, and a satisfying one."

In closing I hope those of you looking for a good story check it out.
