Subject: Sam I am not offended easily
In reply to: Sam 's message, "I think the Lord spoke here," on 02:25:14 06/19/02 Wed

However, I did wonder why you were taking the path you were. But now I see you are leaning toward Universalism. Is that true Sam?

Don gave a website of a sermon above from a Baptist Pastor.

http://www.hookpublications.com/Books/THE%20CHRISTIAN'S%20HATE%20LIFE.htm

I can relate to this Pastor and agree with him. Can you take a little time and read the sermon and tell me if you agree? It talks about things Christians should hate. Do you think God hates these things as well? Then maybe tell me why you think that way.

When I see you talking of the Laodiceans, they were a "compromising" church. And what they compromised was TRUTH----the type that would call everybody brother even if they believed in an entirely different God. They were a lukewarm church---you could look in a crowd and NOT distinguish them from unbelievers.

I'm not a believer in Universalism Sam, but I am a believer in the grace of God, both the common grace which is bestowed to ALL in some manner and that grace is the provision of food, shelter, family, air, water, etc.
And then there is SAVING GRACE which is offered to ALL but NOT bestowed on all. This grace I believe is scripturally conditional through faith in believing the finishing work of Christ on the cross

Rom 1:17
17 For in it the righteousness of God is revealed from faith to faith; as it is written, "The just shall live by faith." (NKJ)

Rom 5:1-2
1 Therefore, having been justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ,
2 through whom also we have access by faith into this grace in which we stand, and rejoice in hope of the glory of God. (NKJ)

Sam please don't feel you have offended me. I am interested on why you believe as you do.
