When the disciples asked Jesus what would be the sign of His coming and of the end of the age in Matthew 24 in the Olivet Discourse, it is not by mistake that Jesus opened and closed that discourse with the imperative, Be not deceived, and warned of those who come in His name, claiming to be "annointed" but are inwardly ravenous wolves. Jesus continually warned of false prophets, as did the Apostles. In the Olivet Discourse in Matthew 24 Jesus said that these false prophets and false annointed would show lying signs and wonders to deceive "even the Elect, IF that were possible"---that is exactly what we see in the charismatic movement today, with their lying signs and wonders of "gold dust falling from heaven", "slain in the spirit", false claims of miraculous healings that when put to the test of solid evidence have nothing more than anecdotal evidence of; "well, I heard someone got healed", but have no names, no addresses or any specific information at all. The fraud of these false prophets is incredible, and rather than heed the Word of Christ to "be not deceived", many go chasing after those lying signs and wonders while being fed a steady diet of spiritual cyanide in the form of outlandish heresy, such as "God has 3 bodies, 3 souls and 3 spirits", as jack howell spreads----that lie from HELL is an outright distortion of the Nature of God, and is the same sort of lie Satan deceived Eve with in the garden of Eden.

St. Paul in 2 Thessalonians 2 said that the Day of the Lord would not come unless the "falling away" takes place first. The Greek word for "falling away" is "apostasia", from which our word: apostasy, comes from. We have apostasy all around us now in the form of false doctrines such as jack's that distort the Nature of God, and the other false teachings of the apostate Finis J. Dake and the Word of Faith false prophets.

St. Paul also said in that same discourse that those who did not receive a love for the Truth are under great delusion so they believe the lie.

The essential doctrines of the Christian faith are under attack now like no other period in the history of the Church, and the Laodiceans care not, they are "lukewarm" in their own wealth, and in their own religiosity.

The martyrs gave their blood defending the faith, and defended the essential doctrines of the historic Christian faith no matter what the cost. Today, in the face of massive attack, most so-called Christians are ambivalent, cavalier, non-caring, fat, satisfied with their material well being and complacent toward the Truth.

Please, learn the lesson of the Bereans, and of 1 John 4:1, to "test the spirits", for just as St. Paul prophecied to young Timothy that in the last days perilous times would come when men would be lovers of themselves, proud, boastful, mockers, lovers of money rather than lovers of God, disobedient, blasphemers and would grow worse and worse, departing from sound doctrine, to heap up for themselves false teachers who tickle their ears with lies of Satan, while promising "power" and performing lying signs and wonders.
