All of the previous six letters were addressed in this manner, "To the Church at Ephesus", the letter to the Laodiceans was addressed, "To the church OF the Laodiceans", and their "lukewarmness" was toward "sound doctrine" for they had developed their own religion on their own conglameration of false doctrines.

They were "lukewarm" towards the doctrines of God because they were content in their own wealth and properity, with their own religion.

WOGGIE is confused:
The Laodicean problem was lukewarmness toward God. It has nothing to do with exact doctrine.

The Laodicean problem had everything to do with exact doctrine----they had exact false doctrine.

WOGGIE, like other Laodiceans downplays and diminishes the neccessity of adherance to sound doctrine, so he can continue in his Laodicean doctrines.
