we haven't met, but I've been on this particular board since its inception.

The church has an entire debate on the nature of man v. nature of God mainly talking about the Eucharist. Both protestants and Catholics alike, try to determine what part we internalize as we consume the essence of God.

Your argument reminded me of theirs. Jesus' Godly nature, didn't 'change' it became manifested through the flesh. He LEFT (not changed) the throne of glory to humble himself as a man. Therefore He enjoyed a more majestic status. He didn't change, his surroundings did.

One who is intent on proving from scripture, will prove whatever it is they are intent on proving. Presupposition, correct context, historical positions, all give the person the ammunition they need to prove their position is the correct one. For me it boils down to this simple concept. God came and did for man, what man was not able to do for Himself. The greatest oath one can swear is the oath in which they take the curse upon themself. God took our curse upon Himself. Jesus endured the wrath of God so that no man has to.

I'm not a traditional Christian. I believe Jesus will actually save the world not just potentially save it. I believe His atonement was sufficient and all-encompassing, not limited to our "getting it". For if it was, we could always point back to the fact that we were smart enough, wise enough, good enough, etc. to have understanding in which we 'accepted' the truth.

I believe God is a God of unconditional love. Not many Christians really believe that, you must first come to God out of correct doctrine or you believe another gospel, are an occultist, apostate, idiot, etc. etc. That is not a God of unconditional love, that is a god of limitation.
The real man-god as they place the nature of man, upon the nature of God.

He has done for us, what we could not do for ourselves. What many people can't see for themselves, and the majority of people will not admit to themselves. That does not thwart the will and intentions of the Almighty God.

Mine is a basis of faith, that God is God, he does not act like man even though he came as one. Scripture prooftexts are to be laid before Him in an act of faith. If we don't understand them, we are to be honest about that. We aren't to wrest scripture so that we can be 'right' and only please the god of correct doctrine. We can admit there are scriptures that seem to contradict in our finite minds. He understands our minds better than we do. And 100% of the time. LOL!

Good to have you here. Sincerely :)
