Heresy perverts the essential doctrines of the historic Christian faith, and perverts the Nature of God, and as such are doctrines of demons.

Abuse by the Roman Catholic church for political expediency and to protect their own heresies by torturing and putting to death Christians who proclaimed God's Truth in the face of their lies was also the working of Satan.

However, Jesus demands that we make right judgments, and to do so when confronted with purveyors of false doctrine(heresy) which perverts the essential doctrines of the Faith once delivered to the saints.

No one is talking about burning Sam at the stake, now are we?

No, we are correctly judging him and his false teaching to be heresy, and exposing the unfruitful works of darkness as commanded by Scripture:

Ephesians 5

Walk in Light
8 For you were once darkness, but now you are light in the Lord. Walk as children of light 9(for the fruit of the Spirit[2] is in all goodness, righteousness, and truth), 10finding out what is acceptable to the Lord. 11And have no fellowship with the unfruitful works of darkness, but rather expose them. 12For it is shameful even to speak of those things which are done by them in secret. 13But all things that are exposed are made manifest by the light, for whatever makes manifest is light. 14Therefore He says:

"Awake, you who sleep,
Arise from the dead,
And Christ will give you light."

Please don't give me any of that "politically correct" nonsense, it is the work of the devil too.
