Everyone knows that GS is frequented by good and bad players, and also by plenty of people who leave the game if they are losing. That is why GS games are held in disdain by a lot of people. I only go to GS as a last resort if no-one else is about.. Case in point...last night I waited round in GS looking for a game, then ended up setting up a 1v1 vs someone called Tripwire. After I got off to a good start, what happens? Tripwire drops, about ten minutes into the game. It's not a surprise, but it IS a pisser; that was ten minutes of frantic work on my part to dominate my opponent, only for my efforts to be thrown away by someone who isnt in til the end. Like I said, its not a surprise, in my experience any gamespy games which end with as many people as they started with are almost non-existent, unless they are the well know regulars, and even then.....

So yes, I personally feel like I'm scraping the barrel when I go to GS looking for a game..its a last resort. I joined a clan in the first place 2 yrs ago because it was just getting silly as SSF had just come out and everyone and his dog was on GS looking for a game. But even now there are still plenty of people about who are only interested in playing if they are on the winning side.

Its true that drops in game and quitters half thru games sucks - BIGTIME. Cant agree more...

...but I havent played that much to be in a clan, so I have no choice. I tried the german site aswell, but the drops happen just as often, and the teammates have no idea what I say, and i have no idea what they say since not every german speaks english. I find it difficult to plan an attack or defence when enemies dont understand a word.

Well - i guess thats the life of an ssf player until he gets himself a network of well-connected player friends.
I suppose one needs a list of 20 at all times to make sure enough people are online to make a sizable game possible.

I CAN do one thing in GS tho - make sure im joining a well known map, and make sure the high pinger does something to better his connection or leave to another game closer to him.....Sure the chinese are fine people and all that, but they lag terrible with the long distance and bad connection.

But still - must be boring to fight the same people over and over...

By the way - i tend to join the underdog team. Victory is sweeter if the underdog wins....and i dont loose sleep over a loss either. If your expected to win - whats the thrill then...
