Unaware of the mare she so loved beside her, the filly sleeps on. Her silky tresses drape out across the ground. A shiver runs down her spine as her thoughts twist into a nightmare. Dark lashes flutter and for a moment if looks as if she was going to awake, but the silvery filly sighs contentedly and drifts back into her sleep.
["Comes dreams. . ."]
The thick woods she steps into feel forbidding. But a place of such beauty was to be explored; besides, ghosts and monsters were for those pathetic fillies. Vibrant golds and reds adorn the trees, and yet it feels haunting. Perhaps it was the darkness between them? Tossing her her mane, the filly fills her lungs with the crisp October air. How sweet it tastes! When she looks back down at the path she is briskly trotting along, she realizes that it was gone. In fact, the trees surrouded her entirely. Darkness closes in on her. Panic seizes her heart. She glances all around, but no sign of a path is found; not even broken twigs or branches. Taking a nervous step backwards, the Thoroughbred steps on a twig and it snaps. Spooked, the filly leaps forward. Into the noose of someone; something's rope. She pulls backwards violently, but the rope only tightens. Two yellow eyes peer out of the darknees out at her, and a mottled green hand reaches for-
["Back to reality"]
The young Thoroughbred thrashes her legs so violently that she kicks herself awake. Shaking, she gazes up into the eyes of Wraith, and comfort comes over her. She stands up on shakey legs to get a grip. Mentally scolding herself for freaking out, she shakes her mane free of grass and leaves. Glad to have her mother there, she nuzzles her.
