I served with 2nd Squardon in the medical battalion but spent most of duty with G-Troop as platoon medic known as Doc Mhoon. I started along Highway One south and north of Chu Lai toward Tam Ky and then south Quang Ngai. I was medic who taught first aid on LST shipped south around October or November of 1967 to Saigon and on to Blackhorse.
We pulled convoy escort from Long Bing to Xuan Loc and Blackhorse until December 1967 and Operation Fargo up Highway 13 and to Loc Nien and the Michelin Rubber Plantation. Lots of jungle busting with H Company and was attacked in Fishook area one night I think Jan 6 1968. I was wounded that night as NVA hit us with RPGs. Puff came in late at night and sprayed around us. Raced to Bien Hoa and POW camps around January 31st for TET offensive. Helped clear out Charlie with 101st and 199th. G Troop hit some NVA regiment on March 13th 1968 along with 101st Airborne.
