In reply to: RAUL SEGURA 's message, "336 AHC WARRIORS -THUNDERBIRDS SOC TRANG" on 10:29:15 03/26/00 Sun

For the first time in my life memories of something I had left behind came back. I don't know why I thought to see if there was anything on Soc Trang on the web and there was a pretty good bit of info and then I found this site. I was in Soc Trang from mid 69 thru the end of 70 and worked nightline maint. on C,D,and H models, at times the challenge to get the ships up for the next days missions seemed to be impossible and then there was the other times where the pilots landed right (No hard landings!!!!) or came in with no bullet holes in the main roter blades that we would help out the PE crews. I have a bunch of fond memories, and heart full of sad ones, where else could a boy raised on a farm learn to fly a helicopter, we only had one pilot at night to signoff on the repairs so therefore I got to fly a pretty good bunch of left seat and got fairly good at piloting except for low leveling the active, looked like a dammed basketball (ground fright) never got past that one.I wish I could remember folks full names only remember a few fisrt names I think oldtimers is setting in on me, I realy wish I could remember my CO"s name that man would at times spend a couple of hours with me while I worked, I might be in the hellhole of a C model working on the duel hyd. system and he would be up on top just talking, He helped this young boy in growingup. I could ramble on but think I"ll can it here. Thanks for the site and I'm putting in favorites so onece in a while I can check back. PS. Might anyone know where I could find a 336th thunderbird patch?
