My name is Hazel Kimbrell and I have the honor of being the secretary of the Landclearers' Association. First let me say "THANK YOU AND WELCOME HOME."
Some of you men already know me so you can vouch to the rest that I am not some internet wacko :o)
Our mailing list has reached over 830 men who served in Vietnam with "ANY" Landclearing Company, Brigade or Battalion. My husband served with the 60th LCC, 62nd Eng. Bn. LC in 1970-71. We are trying to locate as many as possible for upcoming reunions. In July 2000 we had a super reunion at Fort Hood, Texas with 267 in attendance (not counting family and friends). On June 20, 21 & 22, 2002 we were in Peoria, IL, the home of Caterpillar with 299 in attendance. They were at the reunion in Texas and extended the invitation personally. In 2004 we will be at the home of Rome Plow Company in Cedertown, GA and they will host that one as well. They were also in Texas with us and gave a personal invitation. If you would like to be added to our mailing list please send your address and if possible phone number. Who knows, we may have one of your buddies looking for you. Also I do have an extensive E-mailing list that I send out updates of upcoming events when we have them and the names and addresses of the new men as they are found. There have been many "Mini Reunions" between old buddies since this began. I guess you could say:
"TOGETHER THEN, TOGETHER AGAIN."
Also you may be able to help us, that is if you have any of your old orders, rosters or news articles that you would be willing to share with us. I will more than happy to pay for any coping cost. This is how we have been so successful in locating so many of the men.
