Questions regarding mortuary procedures and findings.

1) When Graves registration retrieved remains, did the "coroner" determine and sign and date the death certificate for the date recovered, or date of death? Was it signed at the time of recovery?

2) What condition could one expect the remains to be in, if trapped in a white phosphorous fire and the helicopter virtually melted/didn't even survive the fire (i.e. would one still have remains that would be intact, measureable for height determination?) What shape were the ID tags in -in such extreme temperature situations?

3) Is anyone familiar with the casualty term "WASTE" - and if that was ever used in the mortuary setting?

Thank you.
