Larry, just found this site. I'm not sure why this e-mail never got to me before though.
I was in 3rd Platoon, A/2-506th Infantry, Airmobile, 101st Airborne Division from August 1971 to December 1971. I had served most of my tour already at the DMZ and Laotian border in Quang Tri Province prior to that. Not much happened during that time I was in the 101st. I didn't like the way they operated and was glad nothing much happened with them. I was used to small unit stuff in the bush before I ended up in the 101st. I thought the 101st was trying to build the unit back up. I know they saw plenty during Hamburger Hill and later on in 1970 at Firebase Ripcord. Unit histories will help you with that. I'm currently involved with a book about the unit I was with in Quang Tri--Charlie 1/11 Infantry, 1/5 Infantry Division. The book is about military documentation kept on that unit, where to get it, what it means, etc. Check out the Currahee web site though for the 2/506th <http://currahee.hispeed.com>. Keith
