I serverd with the 3/3 Marines as a sniper. I was wounded in an ambush in April 1967 while attached to the 11th engineers, who at the time, were building bridges leading into Khe-Sahn. I was riding on a twin forty doing a mine check of the road when the ambush occured. My buddy, who was also wounded, and me were picked up in a dump truck and taken back to their camp located adjacent to a river. We were then taken by chopper to Dong Ha field hospital. 3 days later I was transfeered to the USS Santuary.
I wonder if there are any jarheads out ther who might remember this.
