GREAT SITE! You left out one of Vietnam's most best kept secrets units of the war, even to this day.

F Co., 51 LRP (Abn.) Infantry was attached directly to II Field Forces under the direct command of General Fred Weyand (The Savior of Saigon). Colonel William C. Maus, Jr. commanded the 230 men of F/51 LRP (Abn.) Infantry. We were so isolated on the far end of Bien Hoa, South Vietnam, that no one could enter our compound unless they had Westmoreland or Weyand's written permission. It was F Company, 51 LRP (Abn.) Infantry that gave General Fred Weyand the true picture of what was happening in War Zone D prior to Tet 1968. When Tet 1968 came it was F/51 LRP team 3-7 that gave General Fred Weyand two hours head's up on where and when the VC and NVA were coming from. This was at 0106 hours on 31 January 1968.

Our company shoulder crest is "I SERVE" and the current day F/51 LRSU (Abn.) is stationed at Ft. Bragg, NC.

The made for TV documentary "VICTORY DENIED" about this unit and what it did in Vietnam is almost completed and we wish to thank all the men that served and General Norman Schewarzkopf for his help.

The book based on this unit, "I SERVED" is scheduled for publication and distribution in September 2000.

Thank you.
Sincerely,
Don C. Hall
I Serve
