Subject: Another wrestler returns but for the wrong reason (Outlaw, Nikki, Smart Alec Kidd, and a few more)

Call it a moment of weakness combined with a ounce of laziness. Hell call it whatever you want, I am going to call it a moment of conformity. I have always thought of the narrative piece as a loop hole out of actually role-playing but it makes it very easy to tell the history of Furious Steele. Some in the federation are already familiar with his history and others even helped to form it but hopefully this will get everybody up to speed on my past. I can promise you that this will be the only time I take the easy road.
Life in the inner city of Chicago is very rough especially when your mother is a waitress at a all night dinner and your father is the drunk that everybody on the block had a horrible story about. Watching your father beat your mother does bad things to the mind of the child. It desensitizes the child to violence at an early age and teachs him that "might makes right". Furious learned this lesson very early and very well. After a while Furious was not even bothered after his father would come home drunk and kick the shit out of Steele for whatever unimportant reason. Violence just became a way of life.
By the time Steele was fifteen years old he had enough of his home life and runaway just like so many other kids. He got a cleaning up after bar close at a dive in the heart of Chicago and lived on the streets for almost a year before his life changed on one cold winter night. Steele was wandering the streets with no real purpose when he noticed a group of gang bangers heading into a warehouse that was run down. Steele hung out for a while and noticed more people continued to enter the warehouse until he had seen at least fifty people enter the building. Curiosity overtook him and he approached the door and two large security slash thug types stood inside of the door and told him "Ten dollars to get in boy". That ten dollars opened up a new world to Steele. A world that made too much sense not to be right.
That night Steele was introduced to the Underground. Basically it is straight from the movie Gladiator (the boxing movie where they fight for money) except at the Underground it is no holds barred wrestling. The matches end when one person can not go on. That night Steele watched some of the most brutal fights he had ever seen. He watched a man get his neck broken and that man never walked again. Some could say that he was paralyzed for life over a hundred dollar fight but if you were there you would know what it was really about. Steele watched in envy as men became gods in that very ring. The bloody thirsty crowd did not look for humor or beautiful women, no they wanted something much more primal. They wanted violence and they got it.
Steele stayed after the last fight was over and the crowd left and only the cleaning crew was left. Steele spoke with several people about fighting in the ring but nobody would give a skinny 16 year old punk the time of day. Maybe it was just to get Steele to quit bothering people or maybe they could just tell that he was desperate for a chance but they offered Steele a job cleaning up backstage during the event. Steele did not even ask what they pay was before accepting. Hell he would have done it for free.
A few months went by and Steele kept trying to get his chance in the ring but to no avail and then it happened. Steele was backstage cleaning up some blood from a previous fight and one of the next fighters on the card was snorting some cocaine to get ready for his fight. his name was Paul Gesto. Paul was about 30 years old and was tough as nails but about as bright as a box of rocks. That night Paul got some bad drugs and overdosed. Paul fell to the ground and shook uncontrollably from the bad fix. Fate chose a new path that night for a young boy as Steele was the only one around when it happened. This was Steele's chance and he was not going to let it pass him by. Steele took Paul's long black robe and covered his head and walked to the ring when they called Paul's name.
Across the ring stood Ivan "The Bear" Koski. Ivan stood over 6'6" and weighed in the neighborhood of 350 pounds. He was not all muscle but he was covered with hair and as strong as three men. When Steele pulled off the robe the crowd burst into laughter as they the young boy who was not even half the size of the Bear. Even the Bear could not control himself and leaned on the ropes as he laughed uncontrollably. Something snapped in Steele or maybe his inner soul was released it is hard to say but it was not pretty. I would love to be able to say that Steele destroyed the Bear in the ring that night but this is no fairy tale. That night Steele became a legend in the underground but not for winning a fight but for refusing to quit. The fight lasted about ten minutes and Steele really only got in enough offense to piss off the Bear. The fight finally ended when Bear left the ring when the crowd sat in disbelief of the beating young Steele had taken. Blood poured down the face of Steele as he crawled out of the ring and grabbed a chair. Bear turned around just in time to take the chair shot to the face and it opened a nasty gash on his forehead. That was the last thing that Steele remembered that night as Bear beat him into unconsciousness.
After a few days in the hospital Furious woke up and meet Veto for the first time in person. Veto was in his late 50's then but people had been saying that for twenty years. He is an old school mobster who ran the underground to keep himself busy. Veto saw something inside of Steele that he knew was special. He saw a meal ticket. The entire talk of the Underground had been about this young punk who took one of the most brutal beatings in the history of the Underground and still kept trying to get up.
As the years went by Steele started to grow into his body added 70 pounds of mass. He learned how to fight dirty from some of the best in the business. Some say Steele grew a tolerance for pain that is unmatched but that is not the truth. Steele hungered the pain. The only truth in his life that he knew was pain. In his years at the Underground Steele learned that there is only winning and that rules only apply to the weak.
After seven long years at the Underground there was nobody left to fight. The name Furious Steele was an urban legend. Veto knew that there was no money in Steele fighting anymore because nobody would bet against him. It was time for Steele to move on. Veto called in a favor and got Steele a try out in the FWF (A fed that is long since dead.) Steele destroyed his first few opponents and got his chance at his first piece of gold in a battle royal for the United States Championship. That night a new era in the life of Steele began. "The Era of Gold". For the next few years Steele bounced from federation to federation attaining championship belt after championship belt. It was never about the prestige of being champion or the trophies on the wall. the Era of Gold was all about POWER. Being the champion of a federation gave Steele power. Power to make people do things they did not want to do. Power to make people accept his style of matches. Survival of the Fittest.
After the FWFE closed it's doors because of financial trouble, Steele got an offer to move to Texas and wrestle in the TWA. While in Texas Steele faced the Outlaw for the first time. Then he went by the name Kidd Vicious. He was a young up and coming star that was blessed with everything to be a big star. He had the look, the fancy in ring style, the charisma, and the prosona. His trademark line was "LETS GET VICIOUS!!!!". Every fan in the arena would cheer for Kidd Vicious because they knew that he was going to give it everything he had in the ring to put on the best show. Of course Steele instantly hated Vicious because he catered to what he thought the fans wanted. The reality has always been that what the fans really want is violence. They want to see people get hurt.
Kidd Vicious and Steele had three classic matches in Texas with Steele winning the first two and Vicious taking the last one with the help of his close friend Grim. At that time Vicious and Grim dominated the federation with Vicious as the Texas Champion and Grim as the world champion. Eventually Grim and Steele faced for the title and once again Steele's hunger for gold was quenched. That year in Texas a blood feud was born that has never ended. Over the years Steele and the Outlaw have faced off in a half dozen federations and the hatred only grows stronger.
The world of wrestling started to become a bore to Steele. A new city, a new company, a new title. Along the way Steele mad some more enemies with Nikki Silver, Thunderjamma, and "Smart Alec" Kidd, The Dominators, and The Golden Boy being some of his greatest rivals. One night Steele just disappeared from the face of the earth. Three years later he has shown his face.
Now you have the background story so I can get to what wrestling is really all about......................

[The scene opens in a pitch black room. The only sound you can hear is of somebody breathing lightly. A few seconds go by before a telephone rings and you can hear somebody answer it. A man's voice answers the phone and is very deep and raspy.]

Voice: What do you want?

[Other side talking.]

Voice: Yes, I saw the match this week.

[Other side talking.]

Voice: A man with no passion can not overcome in the ring. Even if it is against a nobody like that.

[Other side talking.]

Voice: If you want to see him return to his former glory then you are going to have to do as I SAY.

[Other side talking.]

Voice: I care not if you trust me. I know that piece of crap better then anybody on this planet. I know what makes him tick. I know what his desires are. I know what his goals are. Most importantly I know what his weaknesses are. You do exactly as I say and you will see your "friend" regain his fire.

[Other side talking.]

Voice: There is no compromise. Either you do as I say or we have no deal.

[You hear the phone hang up. The breathing is heavier now and you can almost feel the tension in the air. After almost a minute of silence the phone rings again and the figure answers after letting it ring a good dozen times.]

Voice: I knew you could not say no. Meet me at the corner of 93rd street and 18th Ave West in two hours and come alone.

[The figure hangs up the phone and begins to stir to his feet. The man walks across the room and opens the door. Light fills the one room efficiency and the only thing in the room is a phone, a blank and a young black dog that is about a year old. The camera pans to the door and it is no other then Furious Steele. He is wearing blue jeans with several stains and holes in them, a black leather jacket that is very worn, and black army boots. His long straggly black hair is covering his eyes but the look of distain is obvious on his lips. His face has a few day only scruff on it and he has long sideburns. Steele pets his dog a few times and then closes the door behind him as he leaves. The scene fades into darkness.]
