Making it like it should be…
[The scene opens up on a milk truck as it drives by. The camera zooms in on a restaurant across the streets of New York, moving through the door as it spots Joey in the back eating a sandwich in private while alone. Well, he isn’t alone because this mysterious camera that GWA possibly couldn’t afford to follow him has some how found out where Joey likes to eat his lunch. Joey eats as he slips into thought, but you, the reader, can’t see his thoughts because you’re a real life wrestler and you can’t read thoughts because this is a wrestling promo, not a role-play. I have to follow the rules of wrestling promos and not show you what he is thinking, because if I did then you’d know his inner most desires. Anyone that knows Joey knows he isn’t much of a talker for cameras unless he feels he has something worth while to say. Anyone that knows Joey also knows when he talks about his opponents he does it in front of a camera that the GWA camera crew sent out, but this isn’t a camera from the GWA. No, this camera is a magical camera that can see anything and everything. It can see dreams, but of course those dreams aren’t real, they’re reenacted so opponents can see what their opponent is dreaming about. It’s just like when Joey proposed to Angel with only two other people present, that really every single person on the GWA roster saw it because there was that magical camera that seems to go everywhere. Ok, so Joey finishes eating, he pays for his food gets up and leaves. Instead of going out of the door he walks to the bathroom. The camera goes in…]

[The scene fades back in as we find ourselves now.. Wait, this has nothing to do with Joey’s match so we’ll skip another thought process or his visit to Angel’s grave. Ah, here we go. Joey finds himself annoyed, no wait we don’t know what emotion he is expressing, because that would mean he’d be breaking his on air character, but wait Joey is being followed by a camera that doesn’t even exist. Let’s spy on him illegally and listen to what he has to say as he speaks to Ross Bobby, who has no idea that there is even a camera around..]
Ross- Joey, off the record, meaning that NO ONE but myself will know what we speak about. Is it true that you’re retiring?
Joey- Well, yes it is true… End of Innocence is my last match, but that better not get out to anyone…
[Uh oh, now EVERYONE on the GWA roster knows Joey is going to retire at December’s PPV. That’s not good, because this conversation is supposed to be off the record, meaning NOT ON TAPE. Well, it has secretly been recorded for everyone, even you the reader, to see. They continue on…]
Ross- Again, off the record, what are your true feelings about guys like Rayne, Rozz, Lost Worlds and Chris Cane?
Joey- My true feelings? Well as long as they don’t find out, I personally find them to be idiots, especially Chris and Lost. Rayne, I could care less. Ignorance was never a fan of mine… As for Rozz, I’m sure he thinks he was deserving of that Maximus title shot he received a few weeks back but in my opinion I think the bookers felt sorry for him doing the job so many times, even though he has a decent record.
[Whoops, again this mysterious camera caught everyone on tape. Hey look there’s a hobo humping a Lost Worlds doll. Wait, rewind, erase footage. Ok that wasn’t supposed to be on camera because it has nothing to do w/ Joey’s match Wednesday. DOH! Damn camera. I forgot the camera doesn’t exist so EVERYONE (Including GWA talent) saw it. They can even read this text being written even though this mysterious camera is only video taping the scene, yet somehow it’s filming this text just so those wrestlers like Joey, Ashram, Rayne, Rozz, and Lost can read it. Maybe I shouldn’t knock on anyone, because then they’ll go off on me. Wait, they’ll probably go off on Joey for saying things off the record to Ross, when the two didn’t see a camera, which is illegally filming them even though the camera isn’t real. Of course, the camera has to be real, but who is behind it? A camera man? No… It’s ME! Yeah, I’m illegally filming Joey as he speaks OFF THE RECORD to Ross Bobby…]
Joey- Anymore questions?
Ross- Yeah, have you ever had a dream where you thought someone was watching you?
Joey- Hmm…Why do you ask?
Ross- I don’t know… I just have this funny feeling we’re being watched…
[Oh no! Ross is catching on. If I get caught I’ll go to jail and then you’ll never get to see any footage of Joey living his personal life away from the wrestling ring. Of course, how personal can his life be when his opponents are getting a hold of illegal tapes like this one? It just doesn’t make any sense, now does it? Shhh…. Don’t tell Ross or Joey that I’m filming them. Chris, Lost you two especially, shut up about it…]

[Hmm, what’s this? It’s a GWA cameraman. Let’s see what he’s up to. There’s Joey, it looks like he’s getting ready to cut an interview… Hmm… Let’s sneak up and get an illegal view why the GWA films this promo from Joey that will be aired later for everyone to see. Wait, I forgot, you are all seeing this now so Tempest and Ashram will be commenting soon, won’t you guys?]
Joey- Whatever happens Wednesday… Tempest I never did care for anyone that was teamed with my cousin. I’ve heard stories about you. I’ve heard the things you’ve said. Everything you told your therapist to what you talk to Yellow Jacket about. I know you see me as everything Jimmy is. I’m not like him. I live my life. I like to keep my life off camera as I know you do, but why is it I know all of these things I shouldn’t know? Why is it I know that Steven Fury dreams of Scooby Do and the Smurfs? He has never told me these things. I doubt he has told anyone, but somehow I know. Tempest, you matter not to me because Wednesday Chris Cane and I will beat you… As for Ashram, you and I have yet to meet one on one. Of course, reflecting on your child hood, singing those songs and those poems of yours won’t win you this match. There’s no beating the Midnight Syndicate. I don’t care for my partner as you care not for yours, but your weakness is in your past and with that you will lose… You cannot defeat what you do not understand…
[How did Joey know all of that stuff about Tempest, Fury, and Ashram? Hmm, I guess there are more illegal mysterious cameras like the one I have out there. No one likes being watched. I guess if that narrator guy that usually speaks on behalf of Joey was around, he’d tell the reader (the handler, not the wrestler) about Joey and even let the reader (the handler, not the wrestler) see Joey’s thoughts, dreams, subconscious, and parts of Joey’s own personal life. Then again, this is wrestling so the GWA roster can see everything and comment on everything they read. But then again, shouldn’t the GWA and the roster only view what a GWA camera shows them? I don’t even exist. I’m just a bunch of words. To make everyone happy, I put it all on camera. Even where Joey hints at his hatred for a couple of dumb asses like Rayne and Rozz that can’t understand Common Sense or where Joey basically says Chris Cane and Lost Worlds are two idiots. Wait, my bad. That wasn’t supposed to be on camera, yet even though Joey never said those things out loud, but because I did, I’m sure Rayne, Rozz, Chris and Lost will be commenting soon enough about it. I guess that’s because this is WRESTLING and everything is FAIR GAME. If you want my opinion, I’d rather let the narrator tell the reader (i.e. BJ Smith, not Rozz) about Joey and let the reader (i.e. BJ Smith, not Rozz) in on Joey’s thoughts, subconscious world, dreams and personal life that is off camera in which people like Cane, Lost, Ashram, Rayne, Rozz, Rade, Snoops, Fury and others can’t even see or know about because they aren’t there and they aren’t Joey. Oh yeah, the scene fades to black…]
“If you don’t like it, you can kiss my ass because the handler is not their wrestler and thus the wrestler does not see off camera stuff because it is a ROLE-PLAY, not long ass interview on the match”
role-play
v. role-·played, role-·play·ing, role-·plays
v. tr.
To assume or represent in a drama; act out: “Participants are encouraged to pass on leads about jobs... and to role-play interview situations with each other” (Hatfield MA Valley Advocate).
v. intr.
To assume or act out a particular role: “When I hire people I role-play with them... to see how they take pressure” (Peter Schrag).
n.
Role-playing.
NOTE: This does not count as a RP towards my match. I took all the arguments about RP styles from FWF and GWA and combined them. Don't take anything personal, but this is basically what a Role-Play should be according to what most people think.
