(No, I'm not gonna do any damn intro this time. Why not? 'Cause frankly, I don't feel like one's necessary for this one. Pay attention and you'll see what I mean.)
(The scene fades in on a close-up of Jim "The Icon" Daher in an unknown room. It's definitely The Icon, but he seems somehow...different. Wait, I see what it is. The confident smirk. It's not there. Instead, he wears a look of purpose and determination, a look we have not seen on The Icon since he first became Falconer Champion. He looks into the camera and speaks.)
Jim "The Icon" Daher: October 11, 2001. This is Jim "The Icon" Daher. At the moment, I find myself...re-evaluating my stance on things in the GWA.
(He looks off-camera for a moment, then returns his gaze to the camera and continues.)
The Icon: Up until now, I have always taken my "competition" as...what's the word?...amusement. I have not taken anyone here seriously, up to and including the now vanished Ryosuke Mitsurugi.
(A pause, then...)
The Icon: And the, um...I guess bad judgement in that stance was demonstrated to me this past Wednesday at Insurrection, when I was unsuccessful in my attempts to regain...the Falconer Championship.
(Another pause.)
The Icon: Now, I'm being forced to deal with Jack Otis, of all people, as the Falconer Champion, and I, the man that truly deserves that title above all else...am beltless.
(Yet another pause.)
The Icon: Conclusion?
(A look of resolve adds itself to his expression.)
The Icon: There is only one other option I have. I must henceforth make Jack Otis' life a complete and total living hell until I once again beat him to become the two-time Falconer...Champion. And that, as they say, is that, so thank you, and have a nice FRICKIN'...day.
(He leans close to the camera, the intensity and determination visible in his eyes. He clearly does not intend to repeat what happened Wednesday, not soon, not ever. As he keeps his penetrating gaze locked on the camera, the scene slowly fades to black.)
