Of course, the big news this week has been, "Will he or won't he?" This is, obviously, in reference to Hulk Hogan, who reportedly cracked his meniscus by getting up off of his couch. (First off, if you can hurt yourself that easily, maybe you have no business wrestling, aye?) Hogan's MRI confirmed the injury, but yet Hogan was seen dancing with Regis and Kelly on their show, prompting many to claim that this was another of Hogan's "You know, there's not a big enough payoff or any way to better get myself over out of this match, Brother" backouts. However, Hogan has now confirmed that the match will go on despite his injury.
Of course, by ALL of this happening, Hogan's pretty much guaranteed that his old, used-up name stay in the spotlight as his opponent – the "Legend Killer" that made the challenge – takes a backseat. And really, isn't this what Hogan's been about most of his career? Does all of this really surprise anyone?
This is a lot of the reason that most people "in the know" – and I'll include myself in that group – HATE Hulk Hogan. It's not about what's good for "business", it's about what's good for him. Always has been, always will be. Once in a great while he'll put someone over just to have enough evidence to refute that claim, but anyone with two eyes and a brain knows better. "Hulkamaniac" is just another word for "dumb bastard". Try substituting that term for "Hulkamaniac" next time he gives a promo; it's rather entertaining.
In all probability, I'll be at work when SummerSlam is happening so I won't get to see it. Unless Orton slips up on an RKO and paralyzes Hogan, I won't be interested in what happens with that.
