The blonde was taken by surprise as Jemma held him so suddenly. He knew whatever she had seen was bad. Maybe not as bad as Ash's. Who knew? Ash certainly didn't. He held her close and stroked her head with one hand. His eye were closed tight, sapphire tears falling down his cheeks. He shouldn't have let her near. He shouldn't have invited her anywhere. It struck him like lightning that he couldn't let this happen again. Pushing her gently away, he goton his feet. I'm sorry. Jemma...I shouldn't have brought you into this...I... muscles were tensening, a fist was clenched in pain. I have to go...I'll take you back by your place if you wish. But then... his voice shuddered and died.
