She had the ominous feeling that there was something dark behind this mess, but had not spoken yet. She would not talk to Rob, if someone she loved had died, she would wish to be alone for a while. It was like the stages of a death she had learned in school: shock, denial, sorrow, relent. She had never really wondered how it would actually be, but here it was.
