He caught the hasty glance and understood, pouncing lightly in the grass and continuing in his little circle around her, hoping that it would throw her off as to how close he really was. A tactic he had been played out on television, but never thought had much use for, until now. He was now eerily close, close enough that were he to dart out and make a grab at the ball, there was a high probability that he would succeed. Marcell didn't look to the ball, in fact, he near forgot about it and instead guaged the reaction of the female, taking in the positions of the boys and how he could win this little battle through mere strategy. It was a popular type of story heard in times of warfare, especially at sea where a quick thinking captain was all that stood between the fate of a little sloop. Smiling secretively, he kept his body moving to allow himself the build up for the attack.
