Subject: MISS UNIVERSE DOES HOWARD STERN SHOW

By now you all have heard that Miss Universe did a vulgar interview on the Howard Stern Show about a week ago. Here's the disgust of one state director's take on the show:

"My first big mailing of the year unfortunately coincided with Miss Universe appearing ont he Howard Stearn Show. The Miss Universe brand name and logo that were proudly placed on 50,000 plus postcards instantly worked against me. - - - As the postcards found themselves in the homes of teenagers throughout (my two southern states), I expected my phone to ring with the excitement of young women wanting to be a part of the Miss Universe organization. Instead, my phone began to ring with concerned and shocked parents who had been advised by people at work, etc. to think twice about allowing their daughter to be involved with the MUO after the raunchy material apparently discussed by Oxana Federova the reigning Miss Universe on the Howard Stern Show. - - - Needless to say, I am embarrassed and I am repulsed to realize that our organization would subject Oxana Federova, a lovely and seemingly bright young woman who represents all of us and our brand name, to such a lewd and pornographic experience. I am also sad, very sad that the organization that I believed advanced and promoted the goals of young women would stoop to this level. I strongly believe that our brand name has been devalued and the image of our company, not to mention the young women it represents, has been demeaned. - - - I just thought you should know and be aware as you are meeting with young women and their families in states. i now realize that instead of mailing the postcards, I should have thrown them in the gutter - which is obviously where we should focus our recruiting to allign with the MUO."
