I think I'm a little late on this... But about stepping away from places that bash characters that you may like...

I agree and at the same time disagree...

I've been a long time Xena fan, and as such I am well aware of the longstanding battles that go on between different groups of any given fandom.

No add to the fact that I am a member of one of the two main Xena devisions, and that problem doubles.... EVERYBODY fights on the main areas, even though they are posted as main, and often we get bashed for being the minority...

My point of sharing Xena history?

Well it's the same with most shows, Angel included.

First off, as D/A fan's we're considered the minority, weather or not that is actually true...
The fact that you would have to leave any general area because of bashing or even a place such as a C/A forum, where still, if you respect the fact that it's a C/A forum you should be allowed to go and not be put in the face of characters you like being mercelessly bashed!!

I agree that sometimes it is a good thing to step back and go 'okay, I've had enough of their shit, I don't need to deal with this' and leave...

But I also believe, unless a club clearly states its purpose is to bash a character (IE, Darla bashing club) that you shouldn't HAVE to leave because of bashing, you have as much right to be there as anyone else!

Did I go off on a tagent? Sorry!

Anyway, my point is, it's a good thing you finally spoke your view and then left for places that make you happy, but I still think bashing like that is wrong and you shouldn't have been unhappy there in the first place!
